“Single-cell RNA sequencing reveals markers of stem/progenitor spermatogonia in higher primates”

Sarah Munyoki

Graduate Student, Orwig Lab, University of Pittsburgh, Magee-Womens Research Institute

Objective: The presentation will focus on the use of single cell RNA sequencing data from adult human and monkey testis tissue to identify protein markers of spermatogonial stem cells (SSCs). I will discuss our work investigating whether these markers can be exploited for sorting, enhancing survival and expansion in culture of SSCs or other applications that improve the fundamental knowledge about SSCs in higher primates, and may enable applications in the male infertility clinic.

“Are Dietary/Reproductive factors associated with Ovarian and Endometrial Cancer Risk?”

Ming Lei

Visiting Scholar, Linkov Lab, University of Pittsburgh, Magee-Womens Research Institute

Objective: Singapore Chinese Health study is a population-based prospective cohort study. We would like to share our results of the secondary analysis of the data, mainly focused on ovarian and endometrial cancer.
