Summary

The Sheikh lab is interested in developing targeted radiation treatments for pediatric CNS malignancies. Our goal is to use molecularly guided radiotherapy to reduce the normal tissue effects for children undergoing radiation treatment for primary CNS malignancies. Furthermore, our lab is working to elucidate the impact of molecularly guided radiotherapy on the tumor microenvironment of pediatric brain tumors. The long-term goal of this work will be to determine whether the addition of our molecularly directed radiotherapeutic agent will promote synergy with existing systemic therapies.
