The University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health, University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute, Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC, and the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition hosted an international symposium to bring together experts in ovarian cancer research, clinicians, policy makers, and consumer advocates to discuss the scientific and health implications of prevention, screening, early detection and treatment modalities for ovarian cancer as well as detection, prevention and treatment modalities for disease recurrence.

Topics were covered in general, although special emphasis was given in each session to molecular targets and the immune system. In addition to the scientific presentations, there was a special educational breakout session for survivors and advocates.
