Summary

My research is focused on metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), the most common chronic liver disease in the US, which is closely associated with obesity, Type 2 diabetes, and the metabolic syndrome. I am particularly interested in patient-centered studies on new drug development, risk stratification strategies for MASLD at the population and individual level, and approaches to decreasing risk of liver disease progression to cirrhosis and liver cancer in high-risk patient populations.
