Offsite Rodent Breeding Program with Charles River Laboratories (2022)
The University of Pittsburgh has established an Offsite Breeding Program with Charles River Laboratories. The program is subsidized by the Senior Vice Chancellor of Health Sciences and is very cost-effective. We encourage faculty to review this program. For questions and additional information, please contact the DLAR Director, Dr. Frank Jenkins (firstname.lastname@example.org).
The AF/DLAR provides:
- quality animal husbandry and veterinary support
- facility maintenance
- education and training of the University biomedical community and the public about laboratory animal science, specifically for cancer modeling
- contract study support and veterinary pathology interpretation services
DLAR forms (operational support), detailed information about resources to be included in grant submissions, and animal care guidance documents can be found on the DLAR website.
