Offsite Rodent Breeding Program with Charles River Laboratories (2022)
The University of Pittsburgh has established an Offsite Breeding Program with Charles River Laboratories. The program is subsidized by the Senior Vice Chancellor of Health Sciences and is very cost-effective. The AF/DLAR provides:

  • quality animal husbandry and veterinary support
  • facility maintenance
  • education and training of the University biomedical community and the public about laboratory animal science, specifically for cancer modeling
  • contract study support and veterinary pathology interpretation services
