UPMC Hillman Cancer Center consists of 21 treatment facilities throughout western Pennsylvania. The main facility at UPMC Shadyside serves as the primary location of the Medical Physics Residency Program. The other cancer centers are interconnected through a large network database. In addition to primary training at UPMC Shadyside, residents will also train at:
- Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC for brachytherapy rotations
- UPMC Presbyterian for Gamma Knife rotations
- UPMC Mercy for PSI
- Possible other UPMC sites for acceptance test and machine commissioning
