He is also interested in novel approaches for identifying unknown allo-antigens in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, with the goal of developing engineered allografts that maximize therapeutic graft-vs-leukemia (GVL) effects, while avoiding GVHD.

He is an active member of the scientific community with nearly two dozen peer-reviewed publications and service as a reviewer for journals and scientific societies. He has delivered many presentations to the scientific community. His past institutions, and more recently, the American Society for Transplantation and Cellular Therapy have honored Dr. Quann for his research activities. His basic and translational research program is funded in part through an ASTCT New Investigator Award.

Dr. Quann is board certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology. He earned a BS in biomedical engineering from Drexel University and his MD and a PhD in cell and developmental biology from the Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. He has been in Pittsburgh since 2016 as he completed his internal medicine residency, hematology/ medical oncology fellowship, and post-doctoral training at UPMC.
