Image of Hetal D. Mistry, MD.Please join us in welcoming Hetal D. Mistry, MD, as Assistant Professor in the Division of Malignant Hematology/Medical Oncology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, effective October 1, 2025.

Dr. Mistry will treat breast and neuro oncology patients in the clinical outpatient clinics at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center and Magee Women’s Hospital. This will include diagnosis and treatment of patients with breast, brain, and spinal cord tumors and neurologic complications of cancer and its treatment. Her academic interests are in studying neurological sequelae in cancer patients and new therapeutics for patients with breast cancer, brain metastases and leptomeningeal disease. She will also engage and lead interventional and/or non-interventional basic science, translational, and clinical research projects and trials related to breast and neuro-oncology.

She is joining us from Providence, RI where she completed her residency in internal medicine and fellowships in medical oncology and neuro-oncology at Brown University Health/Rhode Island Hospital. She is co-author on several peer-reviewed publications, the main author of two book chapters, and has presented her work through numerous abstracts, and oral, poster, and invited presentations.

Dr. Mistry is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She earned her B.S. from Yale University and her medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.
