The primary mission of the Biostatistics Facility is to provide intellectual input to grant-seeking cancer research projects, and to engage in statistical work on funded cancer research projects.
The BF does not bill UPMC Hillman Cancer Center members for biostatistics consultations, nor does it bill for developmental work on grant proposals in which we will be involved.
Work on funded projects is typically done on a percentage-effort basis, which is expected to be covered by each project’s budget. Appropriate funds should therefore be sought to support the anticipated biostatistical work that will be needed.
