Advanced Cancer Cellular Therapy (ACCT) Laboratory Services and Equipment

ACCT provides the following services:

  • Cellular Therapy Clinical Trial Support Service provides comprehensive clinical cell-therapy operations support for clinical trials spanning Phases 1 through 3. These activities are performed to ensure adherence to protocol, integrity of the chain of identity and chain of custody, and seamless integration into patient care workflows.
  • Commercial Cellular Therapy Support Service acts as the institutional interface for product receipt, verification, cryostorage, and release for infusion, thereby ensuring uninterrupted access to FDA-approved cell therapies.
  • Tissue Processing, Banking, and Analytical Service provides blood and tissue processing and banking services for patients enrolled in clinical protocols, including both interventional clinical trials and non-interventional observational studies.
  • Facility, Equipment, and Quality Oversight is provided since ACCT is embedded within the UPMC Hillman outpatient clinics and inpatient care locations, enabling real-time coordination among the laboratory, apheresis, inpatient units, and infusion services.
